How Jeff Lopez Built a 7-Figure Business Teaching Marketing Agencies to Sell AI

In a recent episode of the Qualified Podcast, host Bryce DeCora, Co-founder and CEO of CloseBot, sat down with Jeff Lopez, owner of Bot Launch, to discuss the transformative power of AI in marketing agencies and how Jeff built a thriving business teaching others to implement and sell AI solutions.

Jeff’s journey began when he was running a successful niche marketing agency focused on chiropractors doing body contouring via red light therapy. After meeting Bryce and being introduced to CloseBot, Jeff experienced a business epiphany. Within just three weeks of implementing CloseBot for one client, he expanded it to 21 more clients and saw immediate results.

“When you sat at that little white table and showed me and Charles how it worked, we implemented it for one of our clients. Three weeks later, we implemented it for like 21 more clients, and then businesses were coming out of the woodwork,” Jeff explained.

This rapid success led Jeff to realize there was a massive opportunity not just in using AI himself, but in teaching other marketing agencies how to implement and sell AI solutions to their clients.

 

The Common Agency Pitfall

Throughout the interview, both Bryce and Jeff highlighted a recurring theme: marketing agencies often struggle because they focus too heavily on building perfect products rather than selling.

“The biggest thing is they think they need to build this like super complex mousetrap and know how every piece of material building into that mousetrap works… They spend so much time consumed with how it’ll work… Problem is they’re not getting client feedback along the way,” Jeff observed.

This insight formed the core philosophy of BotLaunch: get agencies to sell first, then build based on real client feedback. This approach has led to remarkable success stories within their community.

 

Building a Thriving Community

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of Jeff’s journey is how quickly Bot Launch has grown into a supportive community of marketing professionals. With over 3,000 members between their Facebook group, email list, and free school—and over 215 in their paid accelerator program—Bot Launch has become a force in the AI marketing space.

Jeff attributes this growth not to sophisticated marketing tactics but to genuine care for member success. “It was just more like a side project because it’s like we’re doing this well, all these other people are struggling, hey here’s some of what we’re doing, try it,” he said.

The community has become self-sustaining, with experienced members helping newcomers, creating a culture of celebrating wins and supporting each other. Jeff shared that the most rewarding aspect isn’t his own sales success but seeing members achieve their first wins.

  • One former Air Force member presented to high-net-worth real estate investors and closed six deals at $30,000 each plus $3,000 monthly recurring revenue—over $200,000 in a single week
  • A UK-based member who had just started with marketing tools made her first sale despite initially being hesitant to make cold calls
  • Multiple members closing deals in the $10,000-15,000 range

Jeff emphasized that these successes come not from complex technical knowledge but from focusing on selling and solving real business problems.

 

Pricing AI Services

When it comes to pricing AI solutions, Jeff shared a simple yet powerful formula: charge what one opportunity is worth to the client. For example, if a car detailer sells $2,000 ceramic coatings, charge $2,000 for setup. For roofers who make $25,000 per job, charging $10,000 for setup and $1,000 monthly makes sense since they’ll see ROI within a quarter.

“What one opportunity is worth [to] your client’s trying to bring in… that’s your setup fee,” Jeff explained. He advises starting agencies to begin with whatever they’re comfortable with, even if it’s just $997, then double prices after getting the first client under their belt.

 

The Future of AI in Marketing

Despite the rapid advancement of AI technology, both Jeff and Bryce agreed that marketing agencies won’t become obsolete. While AI tools are becoming more sophisticated, businesses still need experts to implement and manage these solutions.

“83% of businesses… know they want to incorporate AI into their strategy but don’t know how,” Jeff noted, adding that “97% of [businesses] that are installing this are having success with it.”

This creates a massive opportunity for marketing agencies to position themselves as AI implementation experts for years to come.

 

The Bot Launch Philosophy

What makes Bot Launch special goes beyond just teaching technical skills. Jeff has created a culture focused on member success, emphasizing selling over perfection and celebrating wins together.

“I obsess over the Bot Launch member success even more so than mine,” Jeff shared. “If you came to me and you had never sold something before and you get your first $1,500 deal or even $1,000 deal, $10,000 deal—I don’t know how to explain that feeling. It is the best high in the world.”
