GoHighLevel AI Employee is the newest of the upgrades announced for GoHighLevel in October 2024 during their HighLevel Summit event.  CloseBot was gold-level sponsor of this event, so we were able to see the announcement of this update to their AI first-hand!  Here we will discuss some similarities and differences between the two.

Feature Comparison

No Prompts

OpenAI & Anthropic

CloseBot released conversational appointment scheduling 5 months before HighLevel released the ability to conversationally book appointments.  This head-start allowed CloseBot to dial in conversational booking to not only be highly accurate, but also allowed us to build the ability to conversationally reschedule and cancel appointments.  This is something HighLevel has yet to release.  CloseBot’s accuracy at AI booked appointments can’t be matched.  Accuracy matters more than anything when booking appointments.  Lost appointments mean lost money and unhappy clients.

Custom Field Updating

CloseBot has been able to conversationally update custom fields for almost 2 years.  This is something that GoHighLevel will likely release soon.  However, this is a feature that will take time to hone in (something CloseBot has honed in long ago).  Another aspect worth mentioning is the fact that CloseBot can skip asking about information that is already filled in.  With the way GoHighLevel AI Employees are designed, this will not be possible.

Smart Stopping

CloseBot allows you to auto-stop the bot if it encounters the following:

• Contact is likely another bot or spammer
• Contact is becoming upset and wants to stop the conversation
• Contact has said goodbye and the AI saying goodbye would be awkward

Having more control over when your bot is and isn’t engaging saves you money and provides a more human-like experience for the end customers.  Without these stop-controls, you’ll find your customers frustrated with no way to control the AI behavior.

Internal Re-billing

Internal re-billing is something that CloseBot does not yet have.  There is no way within the CloseBot platform to mark up usage for profit.  You can have users pay for their own usage, but there isn’t a whitelabel way to mark up that usage.  GoHighLevel does have this ability.  However, the CloseBot 2.0 update releasing Q1 of 2025 will have this highly requested feature.
